Book Club

The next Book Club selection provides a choice. The primary selection is The Attack by Yasmina Khadra. The main character is a surgeon of Palestinian heritage who is an Israeli citizen. Events occur that disrupt his life and create a crisis of identity. It deals with a subject which may seem to be another unpleasant look at the world these days. For that reason, you may choose to read Flight Behavior by Barbara Kingsolver. In this book, the main character has an encounter with an unexpected appearance of butterflies. As the story evolves, this changes her life. Both of these books deal with relevant social and political issues. No matter which you choose to read, we will be discussing them when we meet.
