Shepherd of the Hills Christian Church is an active community of believers in Jesus Christ. We are guided in outreach activities by his love for all people.
Outreach Ministries at SHCC
Over $42,000.00 in monetary contributions to the greater community was provided in 2011. In addition to financial contributions, the entire church reaches out through weekly, monthly and holiday collections and through many hours of volunteered time to organizations serving those in need. The church contributes financially to Outreach through its budget allocation, Disciple’s Women’s Fellowship, Disciple’s Men’s Fellowship, Youth Ministry and the Book Club. Members also participate in special offerings to meet needs in Central Texas and throughout the world.
The 2013 planned outreach projects for assisting local non-profit organizations includes the following ministries. Please click on each organization to link to their website.
Children, Youth & Families: Lifeworks, Relief Nursery, Safe Place, Austin Children’s Shelter, Austin Groups for the Elderly, Cropwalk (Hunger Relief), Boys & Girls Clubs of Austin
Basic Needs: Austin Resource Center for the Homeless (ARCH), Capital Area Food Bank, Bethany Food Pantry
Special Needs: MEEELJ, Kairos (Prison Ministry International), DOMI, Samaritan Counseling Center, Local and Regional New Churches, Robert V. and Benjamin G. Miller Fund, Southwest Good Samaritan Center-Orphanage in Mexico

Community Outreach
ARCH (Austin Resource Center for the Homeless) volunteers meet the first Tuesday of every month (500 East 7th Street) at 5:30 PM to serve food to the homeless.
We’re excited to begin working with the most recent recipients of our Shepherd’s Fund Grant, the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Austin Area (BGCAA).
Specific dates and times for each group are posted in advance on the church Calendar and in the Newsletter. Email shcc@shccaustin.org or call 512-343-7858 with any additional questions.
