Minister, Rev. Greg Lanier
Reverend Greg Lanier grew up in Austin, TX. Following graduation from the University of Texas at Austin he earned an MBA from the University of North Texas and worked as a commercial banker in Dallas, TX and in North Carolina. Greg is a graduate of Brite Divinity School (TCU) and was ordained as a Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) minister in 1996. Prior to joining the staff at Shepherd of the Hills, Greg served with congregations in Ft. Worth, TX and in the Kansas City area.
In addition to ministering at SHCC, Greg presently serves on the boards of the Samaritan Center in Austin and The Robert V. And Benjamin G. Miller Fund. Greg and his wife Dawn focus on the three children in their lives. In their spare time, they enjoy UT and Baylor sporting events, live music and keeping up with family and friends.
Jeff Robinett has recently joined us as Associate Minister here at Shepherd of the Hills. He is a native of Brady, Texas and is a 1977 graduate of Texas A&M University, as well as a 1982 graduate of Brite Divinity School, Texas Christian University. Jeff has served pastorates in Leicester, Leicestershire, UK, San Angelo, Texas, Coleman, Texas, and Texarkana, Texas. He also received chaplaincy training at Shannon Medical Center in San Angelo and is currently serving as a Hospice Chaplain for Merida Health Care Group.
In addition to spiritual care, Jeff is very interested in forms of worship, creative expressions of spirituality (particularly through music and writing), and the sharing of ideas through Christian education. He has been ordained since May of 1982 and also has the endorsement of the Christian Churches (Disciples of Christ) for the specialized ministry of chaplaincy. Jeff has been blessed to serve in a variety of pastorates during his career and has found each one of them to be an opportunity for learning and growing. He looks forward to the growth afforded by the opportunity to share in ministry with the congregation of Shepherd of the Hills.
Jeff is married to Vickie and together they have 5 children: Jenna Borders, Ian Robinett, Kelsey Groves, Holt Robinett, and Carly Robinett. They are also proud grandparents to Hudson and Ella Borders, and Lillian Robinett.
Rod Coleman, Minister Emeritus
Reverend Rod Coleman is the Founding Pastor of Shepherd of the Hills Christian Church and has been involved in the ministry here since 1984. He is a graduate of Texas Christian University (undergrad) and Brite Divinity School (TCU Seminary). He also has a Masters degree in Counseling from Texas State University and a Doctor of Ministry from the Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary.
Rod and his wife Mary Ann joyfully (and sometimes crazily) share a collection of four children and three young grandchildren, plus Chester the family dog. Rod is a retired Army Chaplain (Colonel) and occasionally volunteers with the Samaritan Center for Counseling and Pastoral Care’s Hope for Heroes counseling program. Rod also enjoys running and traveling, which are happily blended into church and family activities.
Church Administrator, Christina Johnson
Born in Ft. Collins, Colorado, Christina moved to Central Texas at the age of three, so she insists on claiming Texas as her home state. She grew up in Belton, Texas and after graduating high school went on to attend the University of Texas at Austin where she received her Bachelor of Science degree in Radio-TV-Film. Between then and now, Christina lived a summer in Ireland, worked at a newspaper writing obituaries and worked four and half years helping to develop a Bible study software program here in Austin, Texas. But she’s never had a better job than the one she’s found right here at Shepherd of the Hills Christian Church. Christina enjoys running, living life with her awesome friends and learning more about Jesus every day.
Jessica was born in Greenwood, Mississippi and spent about half of her childhood in Germany as a military dependent. Jessica attended graduate school and earned her M.S. in Education from Texas A&M Corpus Christi. She taught elementary school for ten years on a variety of campuses: Department of Defense, Christian schools and most recently at a local charter school. Jessica loves sharing her faith with children and families through interactive Christian education opportunities and lessons. She has led and volunteered with numerous children’s activities and family events over the years. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, playing board games, stargazing, traveling and water activities. Jessica and her husband Max love animals and have four fur-babies and fish at home. Jessica has enjoyed being part of the SHCC community and looks forward to welcoming new visitors and children in the future.
